Role Summary
The Head of Network Development is a pivotal, leadership-level role based in Gurugram. The primary objective is to strategically expand and optimize the retail network across India (Metros, Tier-I, and Tier-II cities) to align with the brand's volume goals and premium positioning. This involves balancing aggressive growth with ensuring optimal performance, financial health, and adherence to global standards within the existing dealer network. The role requires a hands-on leader capable of both strategic planning and execution, operating with frequent travel and leading a small team.
Roles & Responsibilities
A. Strategic Network Planning & Expansion
Develop and execute a comprehensive short-term and long-term retail network strategy for India, identifying potential high-potential markets (Metros, Tier-I, and Tier-II cities) in line with the brand's volume and premium positioning goals.
B. Dealership Feasibility and Viability
Conduct detailed financial feasibility studies for new and existing dealerships, perform competitor analysis, forecast sales potential, and ensure optimal Return on Investment (ROI) for both the dealer partner and the OEM.
C. Dealer Partner Identification & Selection
Lead the end-to-end process of identifying, screening, negotiating, and onboarding new dealer partners who possess the requisite financial stability, retail experience, and commitment to premium brand standards and customer experience.
D. Retail Experience and Design Standards
Define, implement, and rigorously audit adherence to global Corporate Identity (CI) standards across all existing and new retail formats (showrooms and service centres). Implement mystery shopping programs and facility inspections to ensure consistent customer-facing quality.
E. Profitability Enhancement and Consultation
Act as a consultant to the dealer network, driving initiatives to enhance dealer profitability through optimizing overheads, space utilization, aftersales revenue potential, and inventory management.
F. Legal and Contractual Management
Manage all dealer agreements, ensuring compliance with local Indian regulatory and legal frameworks, and oversee contract renewal, performance reviews, and termination processes as needed.
G. Performance Monitoring and Improvement
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for network development, including network size, density, facility quality scores, and dealer financial health, and implement action plans for underperforming areas.
H. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the key interface between the dealer network and internal departments (Sales, Aftersales, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Training) to ensure seamless network operations and consistent customer journey delivery. Manage relationships with OEM headquarters and represent the network perspective in strategic discussions.
