ABOUT V6 ARTHGYAN LLP
V6 Arthgyan LLP is an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor (ARN-167996) based in Lucknow, offering mutual fund distribution, financial planning, insurance, bonds, and NRI services. Founded with the mission of "Creating Wealth, Transforming Lives", V6 empowers individuals and families to achieve financial freedom through disciplined, goal-based investing and our proprietary S.M.M (Scientific Money Management) process.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a detail-oriented and curious Mutual Fund Research Analyst to join our Research & Advisory team. While your primary focus will be mutual fund Portfolio Review, scheme analysis and selection, we need someone who understands the entire securities ecosystem — equities, fixed income, government and corporate bonds, gold, REITs/InvITs, ETFs, derivatives, and alternative investment products so you can evaluate mutual funds in the context of broader market dynamics. This role is ideal for someone who can connect the dots across asset classes, read market signals holistically, and translate complex cross-market intelligence into actionable mutual fund recommendations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Focus — Mutual Fund Research:
- Analyse and compare mutual fund schemes across equity, debt, hybrid, and thematic categories using quantitative metrics (alpha, beta, Sharpe ratio, standard deviation, Sortino ratio, rolling returns, capture ratios).
- Track fund manager changes, portfolio reshuffles, NFO launches, and regulatory developments (SEBI/AMFI) that impact scheme selection.
- Build and maintain V6's internal research library scheme factsheet summaries, AMC comparison sheets, and model portfolio watchlists.
- Apply V6's proprietary S.M.M (Scientific Money Management) Process covering Size of Corpus, Momentum of Market, Valuation of Market, Stage of Investment, Allocation & Rebalancing to generate asset allocation recommendations.
- Prepare weekly/monthly market commentary and fund performance reports for internal use and client distribution.
- Help Relationship Managers in periodic portfolio reviews prepare performance summaries, identify underperforming schemes, suggest replacements based on research, and provide data-backed scheme selections aligned with each client's risk profile and goals.
Broader Securities Ecosystem Understanding:
- Maintain a working knowledge of the full securities ecosystem — equities (NSE/BSE), government and corporate bonds, treasury bills, commercial paper, NCDs, sovereign gold bonds, REITs/InvITs, ETFs, derivatives (futures & options basics), and alternative investments (PMS, AIF, structured products).
- Understand how equity market movements, interest rate cycles (RBI repo rate, bond yields), credit events, and commodity trends impact mutual fund category performance — enabling sharper fund selection and asset allocation calls.
- Track cross-asset research products and reports — brokerage house research, AMC investment outlooks, RBI bulletins, SEBI circulars, credit rating agency updates (CRISIL, ICRA, CARE) — and distil relevant insights for V6's advisory team.
- Evaluate newer investment products (international funds, FOFs, passive strategies, smart-beta ETFs, target maturity funds) and assess their fit within V6 client portfolios alongside traditional MF schemes.
- Monitor macroeconomic indicators — RBI policy, inflation, GDP, fiscal deficit, FII/DII flows, currency movements, global cues (US Fed, crude oil, geopolitics) — and connect them to sectoral and category-level mutual fund performance.
Content & Advisory Support:
- Support the advisory team with scheme-level and market-level research during client reviews, goal mapping, and portfolio rebalancing discussions.
- Assist in creating educational content and data visualisations for V6's social media and client communications (in collaboration with the marketing team).
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Required:
- Graduate/Post-graduate in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or related field (MBA Finance, M.Com, CFA/CFP pursuing or cleared is a strong plus).
- NISM Series V-A (Mutual Fund Distributors) certification — cleared or willing to clear within 3 months of joining. Additional NISM certifications (Equity Derivatives, Research Analyst, Currency Derivatives) are a plus.
- Solid understanding of the Indian securities ecosystem — equity markets (NSE/BSE), bond markets (G-Secs, corporate bonds, NCDs), gold (SGB, Gold ETFs), ETFs, REITs/InvITs, and how each asset class behaves across market cycles.
- Deep knowledge of Indian mutual fund ecosystem — SEBI fund categorisation, taxation (STCG/LTCG, indexation), SIP/STP/SWP mechanics, Direct vs Regular, AMC/RTA structures — this remains the core of your day-to-day work.
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with large data sets, fund factsheets, financial ratios, and cross-asset correlation analysis.
- Proficiency in Advance MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts) and familiarity with research platforms (Value Research, Morningstar India, AMFI website, AMC portals, Screener.in, TradingView).
- Good written communication — ability to translate complex multi-asset research into clear, jargon-free insights for advisors and clients.
