Full job description

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Lead to manage and drive Application Management Support (AMS) engagements. The candidate will lead a team of ABAP developers, ensure high-quality delivery, and act as a key interface between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage ABAP support team for AMS projects
Design and implement technical solutions using ABAP/SAP Fiori/UI5/Odata
Handle incident, problem, and change management (L1/L2/L3 support)
Ensure SLA adherence and timely resolution of tickets
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
Review and approve technical designs, code, and developments
Drive enhancements, reports, interfaces, forms, and workflows
Coordinate with functional consultants (MM, SD, FICO, etc.)
Manage transport requests and deployment across landscapes
Monitor system performance and optimize ABAP programs
Ensure proper documentation and knowledge management
Participate in client meetings and provide regular status updates

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong hands-on experience in Core ABAP (RICEF objects)
Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in ABAP/Fiori/ODATA Development work
Expertise in:
- Reports (Classical & ALV)
- Interfaces (IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services)
- Enhancements (User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Framework)
- Forms (SmartForms / Adobe Forms / SAP Scripts)
Experience in OOPS ABAP
Knowledge of Performance Tuning (SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis)
Experience with SAP Workflow
Exposure to S/4HANA (CDS Views, AMDP, Code Pushdown) is preferred

Preferences:

SAP ABAP certification (added advantage)
ITIL certification is a plus
Experience in global AMS delivery model

Interview Process at AG

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Lead to manage and drive Application Management Support (AMS) engagements. The candidate will lead a team of ABAP developers, ensure high-quality delivery, and act as a key interface between business stakeholders and technical teams. The right candidate would be identified post the below mentioned interview rounds:

Round 1: HR Interview - To identify/cross check professional & personal details
Round 2: Technical Round – To gauge the technical expertise of the candidate
Round 3: Director rendezvous – Directors confirm if the candidate is a good fit for AG
