The R&D Intern supports the Research & Development team in exploring new ideas, materials, trends, and techniques to enhance the brand’s product innovation. The role focuses on assisting with fabric research, design development, sampling coordination, and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in researching global fashion trends, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, colors, and embellishment techniques.
- Support the development of new concepts, swatch boards, and design references.
- Coordinate with suppliers for fabric, embroidery, trims, and new materials sourcing.
- Review samples and help prepare feedback for corrections and improvements.
- Document sampling progress, maintain R&D files, and organize swatch libraries.
- Assist the team with cost comparison, fabric testing, and quality checks.
- Participate in prototype development and follow-up with internal units.
- Prepare presentations for new collections and internal reviews.
Requirements:
- Pursuing or completed Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or Apparel Merchandising.
- Basic knowledge of fabrics, embroidery, garment construction, and fashion techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and creative thinking ability.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Software knowledge: Illustrator/Photoshop/Canva (preferred).
