The Hospital Receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk, welcoming patients and visitors, handling appointments, maintaining records, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and hospital departments.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Registration & Reception
- Welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Register new patients and update existing patient records.
- Verify patient details and maintain accurate records.
Appointment Management
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments.
- Coordinate with doctors and departments regarding patient appointments.
- Inform patients about appointment timings and delays.
Communication
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries.
- Guide patients and visitors to the appropriate departments.
- Handle patient queries and escalate concerns when required.
Billing & Documentation
- Assist patients with billing-related queries.
- Collect and maintain necessary patient documents.
- Ensure proper filing and record maintenance.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain reception area cleanliness and professionalism.
- Prepare daily reports and maintain registers.
- Coordinate with various hospital departments for smooth operations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of computers and MS Office.
- Experience in hospital reception/front office is preferred.
