Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sourcing Merchandiser with 1 year of experience in the apparel industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing fabrics, trims, and accessories, coordinating with vendors, monitoring purchase timelines, and supporting the merchandising team to ensure timely execution of orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Source fabrics, trims, accessories, and other raw materials from approved suppliers.
- Identify and develop new vendors based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate with suppliers.
- Coordinate with merchandising, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth order execution.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Track purchase orders and maintain accurate sourcing records.
- Ensure materials meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Support cost analysis and maintain target margins.
- Resolve supplier-related issues regarding quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Prepare sourcing reports and update management on order status.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Textile, Fashion, Apparel, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in sourcing or merchandising within the garment/apparel industry.
- Knowledge of fabrics, trims, garment manufacturing, and sourcing processes.
- Good negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
