Role & responsibilities
- Supervise and review the overall accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of financial activities.
- Review and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, payments, payroll, and statutory filings before final submission or processing.
- Monitor the companys cash flow, receivables, payables, and outstanding balances and provide regular updates to management.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports, MIS, cash-flow statements, and other management reports to support business decisions.
- Ensure proper maintenance and control of accounting records, including invoices, vouchers, ledgers, bank statements, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and government authorities for audits, compliance matters, and financial requirements.
- Identify accounting discrepancies, compliance risks, and financial issues and take timely corrective actions.
- Supervise and guide the accounts team, allocate responsibilities, review their work, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist management in budgeting, financial planning, cost control, and expense monitoring.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly and annual accounts and coordinate for year-end finalisation and audit requirements.
- Monitor statutory compliance calendars and ensure GST, TDS, PF, PT, payroll, and other applicable compliances are completed on time.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial and employee payroll information.
- Support management with financial analysis and recommendations for improving cost efficiency and financial controls.
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- More than 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, Professional Tax, PF, payroll, bank reconciliation, and finalisation of accounts.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Tally Prime or similar ERP/accounting systems.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and financial data management.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage deadlines and statutory compliance independently.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information professionally.
