Position: Electrical Design EngineerDepartment: Electrical Design & EngineeringIndustry: Electrical Panel Board ManufacturingExperience Required: 5+ Years
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support our panel board manufacturing startup. The candidate will be responsible for electrical design, engineering documentation, panel design development, technical coordination, and supporting manufacturing activities to ensure high-quality and compliant electrical panels.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in LV/MV electrical panel design, switchgear selection, electrical drawings, protection systems, and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities:1. Electrical Panel Design & Engineering:
- Design and develop electrical panels such as:
- Main LT Panels
- MCC Panels
- PCC Panels
- Distribution Boards (DB)
- Control Panels
- Automation Panels
- Marine/Industrial Electrical Panels (if applicable)
- Prepare electrical schematic diagrams, single line diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, and GA drawings.
- Develop panel layouts considering space optimization, heat dissipation, cable entry, maintenance access, and safety requirements.
- Select appropriate electrical components including:
- ACB, MCCB, MCB, MCB
- Contactors, Relays, Protection Devices
- Busbars
- Terminal blocks
- Power supplies
- Control components
2. Engineering Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain:
- Electrical drawings
- BOM (Bill of Materials)
- Cable schedules
- Terminal schedules
- Component specifications
- Technical datasheets
- Testing documents
- Ensure drawings are released as per manufacturing requirements.
3. Manufacturing Support:
- Provide technical support to production and assembly teams.
- Review fabrication and wiring activities.
- Resolve design-related issues during manufacturing.
- Coordinate with procurement team for component selection and availability.
- Support panel testing and commissioning activities.
4. Standards & Quality:
- Ensure designs comply with applicable standards such as:
- IEC Standards
- IS Standards
- Customer specifications
- Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) activities.
- Ensure quality and safety requirements are followed.
5. Project Coordination:
- Coordinate with customers, consultants, and internal teams for technical clarifications.
- Review project requirements and prepare engineering deliverables.
- Support estimation and technical proposal preparation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical panel design and manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems and switchgear.
- Experience in designing electrical panels from concept to manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of:
- Electrical schematics
- Protection coordination
- Load calculations
- Cable sizing
- Short circuit calculations
- Control circuit design
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN / Electrical CAD software.
- Knowledge of panel manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in startup environment and establishing electrical design processes.
- Experience in industrial, marine, automation, or power distribution panels.
- Knowledge of testing procedures and inspection requirements.
- Experience handling customer technical discussions.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
