Night Manager – Job Description
Location: Erode, Tamil Nadu
Department: Front Office / Operations
Reports To: General Manager / Operations Manager
Shift Timing: Night Shift (typically 08: PM – 08:00 AM)
Job Summary
The Night Manager is responsible for overseeing hotel operations during the night shift, ensuring smooth front office activities, guest satisfaction, security, and audit procedures. The role requires strong leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills to manage hotel operations independently during overnight hours.
Key ResponsibilitiesFront Office Operations
- Supervise night shift front desk and reception activities.
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Monitor room availability, reservations, and room allocations.
- Ensure accurate billing and payment processing.
Guest Relations
- Address guest complaints, requests, and emergencies professionally.
- Maintain high standards of hospitality and customer service.
- Ensure guests and late arrivals are properly attended to.
Night Audit & Reporting
- Perform daily night audit and reconcile accounts.
- Verify room revenue, cash collections, and payment records.
- Prepare end-of-day operational and financial reports.
- Coordinate with accounts and management regarding discrepancies.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise night shift employees including reception, housekeeping, and security.
- Ensure discipline, grooming, and service standards are maintained.
- Provide shift handover reports to morning management.
Operational Coordination
- Coordinate with housekeeping for room status updates.
- Ensure all hotel facilities function smoothly overnight.
- Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality preferred.
- 1-2 years of hotel front office or night operations experience preferred.
- Experience in hotel PMS/software systems preferred.
- Good communication skills in English and Tamil.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
