As a Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for sourcing the appropriate material as required throughout the construction timeline. A successful candidate should be able to perform the procurement activities across multiple categories, search for better deals and find more profitable suppliers through excellent negotiation.

- Design, plan, and implement effective sourcing and purchasing strategies aligned with project and organizational goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers to ensure consistency in quality, cost, and delivery.
- Develop effective negotiation strategies to secure favourable terms and conditions for pricing, quality, and delivery.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments—Engineering, Planning, Accounts, and Site Teams—to understand material requirements and project needs.
- Prepare and monitor purchase budgets to control costs and improve profitability.
- Analyze data and reports to support decision-making and improve purchasing efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data using purchase management software and Excel.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered to the correct site without delay.
- Monitor order status and proactively resolve supply or logistics issues to avoid project delays.
- Finalize purchase agreements, contracts, and work orders in line with company policies.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical procurement standards.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
- Develop and maintain an updated database of approved and qualified suppliers/vendors.
- Regularly assess vendor performance and take corrective actions where necessary.
- Forecast price and market trends to anticipate shifts in buyer–supplier dynamics and manage procurement risks.
- Determine optimal quantity, quality, and timing of material deliveries in coordination with project schedules and deadlines.
- Ensure all procurement activities are cost-effective while maintaining quality and timely availability of materials.
Skills Required:
- Previous working experience in a Purchasing Management for 3-5 years; experience in the construction industry is preferable
- Degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
- Hands on experience in budgeting and purchasing management
- Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures
- Superb communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Outstanding negotiation & networking skills
- Excellent computer skills including but not limited to MS Office, Project Management Software, Purchase Management Software
- Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
