Job Summary
The Nutritionist is responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing individualized diet plans, and providing dietary counseling to support treatment, recovery, and overall health. The role involves working closely with doctors, nurses, and kitchen staff to ensure appropriate nutritional care for patients.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Assess nutritional status of inpatients and outpatients.
- Develop individualized diet plans based on medical conditions.
- Provide nutritional counseling to patients and their families.
- Monitor patient progress and modify diet plans as required.
- Educate patients on healthy eating habits and lifestyle modifications.

Inpatient Care
- Conduct daily ward rounds for nutritional assessment.
- Coordinate with consultants regarding patient dietary requirements.
- Ensure prescribed diets are accurately implemented.
- Monitor nutritional intake and patient compliance.
Kitchen & Food Service Coordination
- Coordinate with the kitchen department for meal preparation.
- Ensure food quality, hygiene, and dietary compliance.
- Prepare and update hospital diet menus.
- Monitor special therapeutic diets.
Health Promotion Activities
- Conduct nutrition awareness programs.
- Participate in health camps and community outreach activities.
- Organize dietary education sessions for patients and staff.
Documentation & Quality
- Maintain patient diet records and nutritional assessments.
- Prepare monthly departmental reports.
- Follow NABH and hospital quality standards.
- Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.
Qualification
- B.Sc. Nutrition & Dietetics
- M.Sc. Nutrition & Dietetics (Preferred)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) Certification (Preferred)
Experience
- Freshers can apply.
- 1–5 years of hospital experience preferred.
- Experience in ICU, diabetic, cardiac, and renal nutrition management is an added advantage.

Salary Range
- Fresher: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000/month
- Experienced: ₹25,000 – ₹50,000/month
- Senior Clinical Dietitian: ₹50,000 – ₹80,000+/month
Preferred Candidate
A candidate with experience in clinical nutrition, ICU nutrition support, diabetic and cardiac diet management, patient counseling, and NABH-compliant hospital practices will be preferred.
Pay: ₹32,397.21 - ₹76,581.64 per month
