Blood Bank Technician – Job Responsibilities
1. Blood Collection & Processing
- Collect blood samples from donors following safety protocols.
- Perform vein puncture and handle blood donation procedures.
- Label, store, and process blood samples correctly.
2. Blood Testing & Screening
- Conduct blood grouping and cross-matching.
- Perform tests for infections (HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Malaria, etc.).
- Ensure quality control and accurate test results.
3. Blood Storage & Inventory Management
- Store blood and components (RBCs, plasma, platelets) at appropriate temperatures.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure adequate stock levels.
- Monitor expiry dates and discard expired blood units safely.
4. Blood Component Preparation
- Separate blood into components using centrifugation.
- Prepare packed RBCs, fresh frozen plasma, and platelet concentrates.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Follow infection control and biohazard safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (NABL, NABH, FDA).
- Properly dispose of biomedical waste and used needles.
6. Donor & Patient Coordination
- Assist donors during and after blood donation to prevent adverse reactions.
- Maintain donor records and update databases.
- Coordinate with doctors and nurses for blood transfusions.
7. Equipment Maintenance & Reporting
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment regularly.
- Document test results, donor details, and transfusion records.
- Prepare reports and assist in audits.
Note : Candidate have 2-3 years experience.
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT)
- Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT)
- Diploma/Certificate in Blood Bank Technology
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
