Profile: VMware Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced VMware Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in VMware virtualization, infrastructure deployment, network connectivity, and backup solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, securing, and maintaining VMware ESXi environments, Veeam backup infrastructure, and remote connectivity across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and administer VMware ESXi hosts and virtualization infrastructure.
Secure and harden ESXi hosts and Veeam Backup Servers (Linux).
Deploy VMware ESXi on new hardware within the OCC subnet.
Build and configure Veeam Backup & Replication servers as local backup solutions.
Configure OPC ESXi Layer-3 local connectivity with OCC ESXi and Veeam hardware.
Configure secure remote access for servers and storage infrastructure.
Perform infrastructure migration, deployment, and hardware replacement activities.
Configure storage connectivity and ensure optimal integration with VMware environments.
Monitor VMware infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity.
Troubleshoot virtualization, networking, storage, and backup-related issues.
Implement security best practices, patching, and system hardening.
Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and storage teams during deployments and migrations.
Prepare technical documentation, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi installation, configuration, and administration.
Experience deploying VMware infrastructure on new physical hardware.
Strong understanding of VMware networking, virtual switches, VLANs, and Layer-3 connectivity.
Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication administration.
Linux server installation, configuration, and security hardening.
Experience configuring remote access for enterprise infrastructure.
Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN/NAS) and VMware storage integration.
Experience with infrastructure security and system hardening.
Strong troubleshooting skills across virtualization, networking, storage, and backup environments.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with VMware vCenter Server administration.
Familiarity with VMware vSphere, HA, DRS, and vMotion.
Knowledge of enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Experience with server migration and infrastructure modernization projects.
Understanding of enterprise networking concepts and firewall configurations.
VMware and Veeam certifications are highly desirable.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in VMware Infrastructure Administration.
Experience working in enterprise production environments.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
