About the Role
This is a two-phase role designed to develop a well-rounded commercial operator. You will begin in Operations - building deep knowledge of how our business runs, how orders are processed, and how clients are served on the ground. This foundation will prepare you to transition into a Business Development capacity, where you will use that operational fluency to win and manage client relationships with credibility and confidence.
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented enough to thrive in operations and commercially minded enough to grow into sales.
Phase 1 - Operations
- Process customer orders and enquiries accurately and on time
- Provide regular updates to clients on order status - written and verbal
- Liaise with customers, agents, boat crew, service providers, and internal stakeholders
- Monitor all job orders and maintain accurate timesheets and event data in the system
- Prepare and communicate invoicing information to Finance in a timely manner
- Flag discrepancies and issues to your supervisor promptly
- Prepare operational reports as required
Phase 2 - Business Development
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through research, outreach, visits, and campaigns
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients
- Own order intake for assigned accounts - accurate booking, pricing, and issue resolution
- Handle escalated client cases professionally and ensure timely resolution
- Collaborate with Operations to resolve service delivery issues - drawing on your operational experience
- Oversee all client touchpoints including email, WhatsApp, and feedback channels
- Support and eventually manage junior BD team members - assign workloads and monitor performance
- Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue, margin, and KPI targets
What We're Looking For
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree in any subject; Maritime or logistics-related qualification is a plus.
- Someone who understands that great sales starts with understanding how the business actually operates
- Detail-oriented, organised, and proactive in Phase 1 - commercially curious and relationship-driven in Phase 2
- Strong English language skills across written and verbal channels
- Comfortable working across cultures and time zones
- Ambition to grow into a client-facing, revenue-generating role over time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
