We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer (L1) to provide first-level technical support for the cinema theatre's IT infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, POS systems, networking devices, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 technical support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and software applications.
- Support POS systems, ticketing counters, kiosks, and payment devices.
- Install and maintain printers, scanners, barcode scanners, and biometric devices.
- Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi-Fi, internet, and network connectivity issues.
- Configure and support email clients (Outlook) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Perform hardware installation, replacement, and preventive maintenance.
- Create and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
- Respond to IT support tickets within the defined SLA.
- Coordinate with senior IT engineers or vendors for complex issues.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
- Ensure antivirus, software updates, and system security are up to date.
- Provide technical support during movie releases, weekends, and special events when required.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating systems.
- Basic understanding of LAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with desktop hardware, printers, and peripherals.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory is an advantage.
- Good troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
- Certifications such as A+, N+, CCNA, or Microsoft certifications are an added advantage.
Experience
- Freshers or 0–2 years of experience in Desktop Support / IT Support.
- Experience in multiplexes, retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environments is preferred.
