Job Purpose
The Asst. Manager – APAC Region is responsible for managing and expanding the company's export business across the Asia-Pacific region by ensuring effective customer support, distributor management, export operations, and regulatory compliance. The role involves driving business growth, strengthening distributor relationships and leading cross-functional coordination to achieve organizational objectives while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Need a successful history of managing teams and international client relationships. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution to grow export volumes, manage compliance and build strong distribution in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
Develop and implement export strategies for APAC markets.
Identify new business opportunities within the APAC region.
Manage compliance with International trade regulations in the APAC region.
Team Management
Lead, monitor and manage the International Customer Support team
Allocate responsibilities, set targets and review performance to ensure effective team output
Customer & Distributor Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with the International clients, distributors
Resolve queries and ensure high levels of service and satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with QA & QC, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Logistics, Supply chain, etc.
Key Requirement
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Science either in Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related discipline.
Master's Degree in International Business, Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
10 to 15 years’ experience in International sales with at least 3 to 5 years in a leadership / team handling role.
In-depth knowledge of APAC markets
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to travel internationally as required.
Support forecasting activities for the APAC region.
Oversee compliance activities relating to Hazardous chemical exports, Restricted and controlled chemicals, Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA/IMDG).
1. Regional Business Management
Manage export customer support activities for the APAC region.
Develop and execute regional business strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, distributors, and market potential within the APAC region.
Monitor regional sales performance and support business growth initiatives.
Drive customer acquisition and distributor development activities.
2. Distributor & Customer Relationship Management
Manage relationships with existing distributors and key customers across the APAC region.
Support the appointment and on boarding of new distributors.
Conduct regular business reviews with distributors to monitor performance and identify growth opportunities.
Handle customer and distributor escalations and ensure timely resolution.
Coordinate product presentations, training sessions, and promotional activities for distributors and customers.
Ensure prompt and effective communication with all regional stakeholders.
3. International Customer Support Management
Supervise the International Customer Support team.
Monitor inquiry response time and quotation turnaround time.
Ensure timely preparation and submission of quotations, proforma invoices, and customer communications.
Review commercial terms, delivery terms, and special customer requirements.
Monitor pending inquiries, quotation follow-ups, and conversion rates.
Ensure adherence to departmental SOPs and customer service standards.
5. Regulatory Compliance & Trade Requirements
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and country-specific import requirements within the APAC region.
Monitor export control requirements and regulatory changes affecting the business.
Oversee compliance activities relating to:
Hazardous chemical exports.
End-Use Declarations (EUDs).
Restricted and controlled chemicals.
Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA/IMDG).
Coordinate with internal regulatory team.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate with QA & QC, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Logistics, Supply chain, etc.
7. Team Leadership & Development
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to departmental team members.
Allocate and prioritize departmental work based on business requirements.
Conduct periodic performance reviews and monitor departmental KPIs.
Identify training requirements and facilitate capability development initiatives.
Promote a collaborative, customer-focused, and performance-driven work culture.
8. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators including:
Inquiry response time.
Quotation turnaround time.
Customer satisfaction levels.
Distributor performance.
New customer and distributor acquisition.
Customer complaints and resolution timelines.
Support forecasting activities for the APAC region.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Regional business growth.
New distributor development.
Customer retention and satisfaction.
Inquiry and quotation turnaround time.
Export compliance adherence.
Distributor engagement and performance.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Management, or a related discipline.
Master's Degree in International Business, Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in International Business, or Export Management.
Proven experience in handling international distributors and customers within the APAC region.
Prior experience in managing export operations and cross-functional teams is preferred.

Authority
The Asst. Manager – APAC Region shall have the authority to:
Allocate and prioritize departmental activities for the APAC region.
Recommend strategic initiatives for regional business growth.
Escalate regulatory, operational, and commercial matters to Management whenever required.
Initiate process improvement and customer experience enhancement initiatives.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
