JOB DESCRIPTION – SWEETS PACKER
Department: Production / Packing
Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Factory In-Charge
Work Location: Factory / Retail Outlet (RO-01, RO-02) – Back Counter
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 per month (based on experience)
Working Hours: 9–10 hours/day (extended shifts during festival season)
Job Summary:
The Sweets Packer is responsible for accurately weighing, packing, and presenting sweets and food items for sale, ensuring hygiene, freshness, and correct quantity in every order. This role is critical to customer satisfaction, wastage control, and the overall presentation standard of MeethiRas products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weigh sweets and food items accurately as per customer order or standard pack sizes (250g, 500g, 1kg, etc.)
- Pack items neatly into boxes, containers, or bags using appropriate packaging material (boxes, silver foil, butter paper, ribbon, stickers)
- Match packed weight and items against the billing slip/order before handing over to the sales counter or customer
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) — older stock packed and sold before fresh stock
- Maintain strict personal hygiene: gloves, hairnet/cap, apron, and clean hands at all times
- Keep the packing station, scales, and equipment clean and sanitized throughout the shift
- Check sweets/food items for quality and freshness before packing; report any spoiled or substandard stock to the supervisor immediately
- Prepare gift boxes and festival/bulk-order packing with neat presentation
- Minimize wastage and spillage during weighing and packing
- Keep packaging material stock organized and inform supervisor when running low
- Support stock-taking and inventory counts when required
- Coordinate with the sales counter and kitchen/production staff to ensure smooth order flow, especially during rush hours and festival season
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic numeracy — comfortable with weights, units (gram/kg), and simple calculations
- Speed and accuracy under pressure, especially during peak hours and festivals
- Strong attention to cleanliness and food hygiene
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive physical tasks
- Basic reading/writing ability to match items against order slips
- Prior experience in a sweet shop, bakery, or food packing role preferred but not mandatory — training will be provided
- Minimum education: 8th–10th pass

- Honest and trustworthy in handling stock and cash-equivalent goods
- Punctual and reliable, especially during high-demand festival periods
- Team player who can coordinate well with sales staff and kitchen team
- Patient and consistent, even during long rush-hour queues
Working Conditions:
- Standing work in a factory or retail back-counter environment
- Exposure to refrigerated/cold storage areas for some items
- Extended working hours expected during festivals (Diwali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan, etc.)
- Weekly off as per shift roster; may be rotational
Growth Path:
Sweets Packers who demonstrate strong product knowledge, speed, and reliability may be considered for promotion to Senior Packer, Packing Supervisor, or cross-trained into Sales Counter roles over time.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
