IT/OT– Software Engineer III
As an IT/OT Software Engineer III Sr Consultant in Deloitte’s Enterprise Performance practice, you will support the design, development, and deployment of industrial technology solutions across complex manufacturing environments. In this role, you will contribute to application development, system integration, plant data connectivity, visualization, and solution implementation to help clients enhance operational performance and digital manufacturing capabilities. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business and manufacturing requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with client objectives.

As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting Services, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.
Work you'll do
As a Senior Consultant, Software Engineering on the Enterprise Performance team, you will be responsible for:
- Design, develop, and support industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 4.0 solutions for supply chain and operations transformation initiatives.
- Build and integrate connections to plant and machine data sources using protocols such as OPC Unified Architecture (OPC-UA/DA), Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Profinet, EtherCAT, and Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT).
- Develop backend components, application logic, and data pipelines using Amazon Web Services (AWS) IoT Core, Python, JavaScript, Structured Query Language (SQL), and MySQL.
- Configure and enhance human-machine interface (HMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), programmable logic controller (PLC), and historian-based solutions aligned to client requirements.
- Support technical delivery by documenting solution designs, integrating third-party application programming interfaces (APIs), troubleshooting automation issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Location: Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Pune/Chennai
Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM or 2 PM to 11 PM IST as per business requirements
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Technology (MTech), or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
- 3-6 years of experience in industry or technology consulting supporting automated processes and system integration.
- Experience with IIoT and Industry 4.0 technologies, including HighByte, Ignition, SCADA, PLC, and industrial data historians.
- Experience establishing communication with plant data sources using OPC Unified Architecture (OPC-UA/DA), Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Profinet, EtherCAT, and Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT).
- Experience developing HMI screens using platforms such as Keyence, Beckhoff, or Advantech.
- Experience building solutions using AWS IoT Core, Python, JavaScript, SQL, and MySQL.
- Experience integrating and extracting data through Representational State Transfer (REST) application programming interfaces (APIs).
Preferred:
- Experience with PTC Kepware, SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII), Ignition, or AWS IoT Greengrass.
- Experience with Ignition Gateway, Ignition Edge, Tag Historian, Perspective, Alarm Notification, and MQTT Transmission with Sparkplug B.
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, IoT Analytics, and IoT Events.
- Experience with industrial data historians such as GE Proficy and OSI PI.
- Experience designing automation control systems, technical drawings, and project documentation.
- Experience with Power BI or Tableau.
