About the Role
Fiducia is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with strong expertise in UK accounting practices to manage end-to-end accounting operations for UK-based clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, VAT compliance, and management accounting, along with proficiency in cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, client communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of UK accounting standards and HMRC regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting processes for UK clients.
- Prepare, review, and finalize monthly management accounts and financial statements.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes efficiently.
- Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain general ledgers, journals, and supporting accounting documentation.
- Review financial transactions and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Coordinate with clients to address accounting queries, provide financial insights, and ensure timely reporting.
- Work extensively on accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and similar platforms.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of client requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B. Com / M. Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Strong understanding of UK accounting standards, VAT, and HMRC compliance.
- Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and management accounts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
