Looking for position for one of the institutes of Symbiosis International University i.e. Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre, Lavale, Pune
Hospital is 900 beds NABH Accredited, Multi-super Specialty State of the art hospital. Associated with Symbiosis Medical College for Women.
Position- Blood Bank/Center Technician. FDA approved
Responsibilities:
- 1. Perform donor registration, screening, phlebotomy, and observe post-donation reactions under supervision
2. Process whole blood into components (PRBC, FFP, Platelets, Cryo) following SOPs and yield criteria
3. Conduct blood grouping, crossmatch, TTI screening (manual/automated) under guidance of Technical Supervisor or Medical Officer
4. Maintain all technical records, temperature logs, QC registers, and component tracking forms
5. Ensure cleanliness, biosafety, and calibration of workstations, centrifuges, agitators, and refrigerators
6. Assist in issue of blood and components, including verification, labeling, and transport logs
7. Follow infection control and biomedical waste disposal protocols as per hospital and SBTC/FDA guidelines
8. Participate in internal training programs, mock drills, and audits
9. Provide assistance during transfusion reaction workups, external camps, and donor awareness events
To carry out and perform various other duties/subroutines of the department as per lawful and reasonable instructions of superior assigned from time to time.
Requirement of Qualification and experience :
- i. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology / Blood Bank Technology with 6 months experience, or
ii. B.Sc. in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine with 6 months experience, or
iii. M.Sc. in Transfusion Medicine with 6 months experience, or
iv. Post Graduate Diploma in MLT / Transfusion Technology (PGDTT)* with 6 months experience
(*PGDTT must be approved by Central or State Government)
- 1 to 5 years experience in a hospital blood center. FDA approved technician
- Working in rotational shifts is mandatory.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
