The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Application Architect to define, evolve, and enforce architecture standards across KDI’s user-facing applications — including both web platforms and mobile applications. The role combines strategic architecture leadership with hands-on technical expertise, ensuring our solutions are scalable, secure, performant, and consistent across diverse product lines.
What you'll do
Architectural Leadership
- Define, standardize, and evolve application architecture patterns across web and mobile products.
- Drive adoption of modular design systems, reusable component libraries, and consistent UX.
- Establish coding standards, guidelines, and best practices for modern web and mobile applications.
Hands-On Development
- Contribute directly to critical features and unblock engineering teams when needed.
- Lead performance optimization, accessibility compliance, and security hardening of applications.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure principles are consistently applied.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Partner with platform and infrastructure architects, UX/UI designers, and product managers to align solutions with platform strategy.
- Mentor frontend and mobile developers, raising the overall technical maturity.
- Support cross-product initiatives requiring shared application and design system capabilities.
What we're looking for
- Expert-level knowledge of modern web frameworks (Angular, Javascript / Typescript and similar ones).
- Experience with MEAN stack environments (Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Angular) is desirable.
- Strong experience architecting and delivering mobile applications, with Flutter as the preferred framework (other frameworks will also be considered).
- Proven expertise in design systems and reusable component library governance.
- Familiarity with 3D visualization libraries or frameworks (e.g., WebGL, Three.js, Babylon.js) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of performance optimization, accessibility, and application security.
- Hands-on experience with state management, CI/CD, automated testing frameworks, and build tools.
- Familiarity with backend integration and API design.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Experience
- 10 + years in application development, with at least 3–5 years in an architecture or technical leadership role.
- Experience across both web and mobile app ecosystems.
- Experience collaborating across multiple product lines and aligning to enterprise-level architecture.
