Job Title: QMS Executive / QMS Engineer – Thermoforming
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Quality Management Systems (preferably in thermoforming / plastics / packaging indus
Location: (Ranipet. Tamil Nadu)
Job Purpose:
To develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in thermoforming operations, ensuring product quality, compliance with standards, and continuous improvement.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. QMS Implementation & Maintenance
Implement and maintain QMS as per ISO 9001 / BRC / relevant standards
Ensure documentation, processes, and procedures are up to date
Develop SOPs, Work Instructions, and Quality Manuals
2. Process Quality Control (Thermoforming)
Monitor thermoforming processes (heating, forming, trimming)
Ensure product quality parameters (thickness, shape, strength, visual defects)
Analyze process deviations and take corrective actions
3. Documentation & Audit Management
Maintain QMS documents, records, and formats
Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits
Ensure closure of audit observations and NCs
4. Customer & Supplier Quality
Handle customer complaints and implement CAPA
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA – 5 Why, Fishbone)
Work with suppliers to ensure raw material quality compliance
5. Continuous Improvement
Drive Kaizen, Lean, 5S, Six Sigma initiatives
Reduce rejection, rework, and waste in thermoforming process
Improve process capability (Cp, Cpk)
6. Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety guidelines
Maintain traceability of products and materials
Support environmental and regulatory compliance
7. Training & Awareness
Conduct QMS and quality awareness training for operators
Develop skill matrix and training plans
8. Data Analysis & Reporting
Monitor KPIs such as rejection %, customer complaints, process efficiency
Prepare MIS reports for management
Use statistical tools for process improvement
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
1.Reduction in rejection and rework 2. Audit compliance score 3. Closure time for customer complaints 4. Process capability improvement
5. Supplier quality performance
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / Plastics / Polymer / Production)
Certification in ISO 9001 / Internal Auditor / Six Sigma (preferred)
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of thermoforming processes
Expertise in QMS systems and documentation
Problem-solving tools (8D, RCA, CAPA)
Attention to detail and analytical skills
Good communication and coordination skills
Preferred Experience: Experience in plastic packaging / sheet extrusion / thermoforming products
Exposure to food-grade packaging quality standards (if applicable)
