About the Role
Truefitt & Hill, the world's oldest barbershop with a heritage dating back to 1805 and a tradition of serving royalty and discerning gentlemen, is seeking an accomplished senior salon manager to lead its Alwarpet branch. This is a leadership role for someone who blends operational excellence with a genuine passion for premium client experience. You will be the custodian of the Truefitt & Hill standard — overseeing day-to-day operations, leading a skilled grooming team, and ensuring every gentleman who walks through the door receives an impeccable, distinctly British grooming experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Standards
- Oversee end-to-end daily operations of the salon, ensuring smooth, efficient, and profitable functioning.
- Uphold and enforce Truefitt & Hill's global brand standards across service quality, hygiene, ambience, and presentation.
- Manage appointment scheduling, footfall flow, and capacity to minimize wait times and maximize chair utilization.
- Maintain inventory of grooming products, retail stock, and consumables; coordinate timely replenishment and minimise wastage.
Client Experience
- Champion an exceptional, personalized experience for every client, building lasting relationships with regular and VIP patrons.
- Handle client feedback, escalations, and special requests with professionalism and discretion.
- Drive client retention and loyalty through consistent, memorable service.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of master barbers, stylists, and front-desk staff.
- Manage rostering, training, performance reviews, and ongoing skill development.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, grooming etiquette, and pride in craft.
Revenue & Business Growth
- Own branch revenue targets across services and retail product sales.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities for premium services and Truefitt & Hill's signature grooming range (colognes, shaving products, skincare).
- Track key metrics — daily sales, average bill value, retention, and staff productivity — and report performance to management.
- Support local marketing, membership programs, and community-building initiatives.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Manage cash handling, billing accuracy, and daily reconciliation.
- Maintain staff records, attendance, and operational documentation.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in salon/spa/hospitality management, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or branch-leadership role; experience in luxury or premium men's grooming strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing a team and meeting revenue and service targets.
- Strong understanding of men's grooming services, barbering, and premium retail.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and client-handling skills with a refined, professional demeanor.
- Commercial acumen with comfort in budgets, P&L basics, and performance reporting.
- Fluency in English and Tamil; additional languages an advantage.
- Familiarity with salon management/POS software and basic MS Office.
- Flexibility to work weekends and peak hours as required.
