Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day production activities and manage the shop-floor team. The candidate will be responsible for supervising Carpenters, Helpers, and Foremen, ensuring timely project completion, availability of materials, efficient manpower utilization, and consistent quality output.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in furniture/interior manufacturing, shop-floor management, production planning, manpower handling, quality control, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the shop-floor team, including Carpenters, Helpers, and Foremen.
- Plan and allocate manpower based on production requirements and project priorities.
- Monitor daily production activities and ensure work progresses as per the planned schedule.
- Closely track project progress and ensure timely project completion/closure.
- Ensure the availability of required materials, tools, hardware, and consumables for uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate with Production, Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and other departments for smooth workflow.
- Ensure production is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, measurements, and quality standards.
- Monitor product quality and ensure minimum rework, rejection, and material wastage.
- Conduct regular shop-floor inspections to identify production issues and quality concerns.
- Monitor manpower productivity, attendance, discipline, and overall work performance.
- Identify production delays, bottlenecks, and operational issues and take timely corrective action.
- Ensure proper utilization and handling of raw materials to minimize wastage.
- Maintain daily production updates, project progress reports, and other required records.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, workplace discipline, and adherence to safety standards on the shop floor.
- Provide regular updates to the Production Manager/Plant Head regarding production status, manpower, material requirements, and project progress.
- Support management in achieving production targets, quality standards, and project deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Production Supervision.
- Experience in Furniture Manufacturing, Interior Manufacturing, Modular Furniture, Retail Interior, or a similar industry.
- Strong experience in handling and supervising Carpenters, Helpers, and Foremen.
- Good knowledge of wooden furniture and interior manufacturing processes.
- Strong manpower management and shop-floor supervision skills.
- Good understanding of production planning, workflow, and material requirements.
- Ability to monitor project timelines and ensure timely completion.
- Strong knowledge of quality control and production standards.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple production activities simultaneously.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with hands-on experience in wooden furniture manufacturing, retail interiors, modular furniture, or turnkey interior production will be preferred.
- Should have strong leadership and team-handling capabilities.
- Should be capable of independently managing day-to-day shop-floor operations.
- Should be proactive in identifying production issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Should have a strong focus on quality, productivity, material utilization, and timely project completion.
