About the Role
Professional Couriers is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Regional Head – Operations to take overall responsibility for operations across North and East India.
The position will be based in Chennai and will require extensive travel across the assigned region. The candidate will be responsible for branch and hub operations, shipment movement, delivery performance, operational efficiency, manpower management, service quality, cost control, and overall regional performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for operations across North and East India.
- Manage and monitor branch, hub, pickup, transit, transportation, and delivery operations.
- Ensure timely pickup, processing, movement, and delivery of shipments.
- Monitor branch-wise and regional operational performance.
- Lead and manage Branch Managers, Operations Managers, supervisors, and operational teams.
- Conduct regular visits to branches, hubs, and operational locations.
- Improve on-time delivery, productivity, and overall service quality.
- Monitor shipment delays, misrouting, loss, damage, and delivery exceptions.
- Handle and resolve critical operational issues and customer escalations.
- Monitor and control manpower, transportation, branch, and other operational expenses.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly operational MIS and performance reports.
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs for branches and regional teams.
- Identify underperforming branches and implement corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, operational processes, and service standards.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, HR & Administration, and senior management.
- Support operational planning for new customers, branches, routes, and network expansion.
- Optimize manpower, vehicles, routes, hubs, and other operational resources.
- Develop, train, motivate, and manage regional operational teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Travel extensively across North and East India for branch visits, audits, reviews, and operational requirements.

Candidate Requirements
- Candidate must be based in Chennai.
- Hindi language proficiency is mandatory.
- 10–15+ years of relevant experience in the Courier, Logistics, Express, Transportation, Supply Chain, or related industry.
- Candidates with strong experience in courier or logistics operations will be preferred.
- Proven experience managing multi-branch, multi-location, or multi-state operations.
- Strong understanding of pickup, hub, transit, transportation, distribution, and last-mile delivery operations.
- Experience managing large operational teams.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, MIS, and operational reporting.
- Willingness to travel extensively across North and East India.
- Ability to handle operational challenges, escalations, and time-sensitive situations.
- Strong coordination skills with branches, customers, business partners, and internal departments.
Preferred Experience
Candidates currently working or having previous experience in Courier, Logistics, Express Delivery, Transportation, Supply Chain, 3PL, or Distribution Operations will be preferred.
Candidates with experience managing regional, multi-state, or multi-branch operations will have an added advantage.
Compensation
8LPA- 10 LPA per annum, depending on experience, qualifications, and suitability for the role.
