Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Academic Mentor to guide and support students throughout their academic journey. The Academic Mentor will play a key role in monitoring student performance, providing academic guidance, motivating students to achieve their goals, and maintaining regular communication with parents and faculty to ensure continuous academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and guide students to improve their academic performance and achieve their learning goals.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, and classroom engagement.
- Identify students who require additional academic or motivational support and implement appropriate intervention plans.
- Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions to address academic concerns, study habits, time management, and exam preparation.
- Coordinate with faculty members to review student performance and resolve academic challenges.
- Maintain regular communication with parents by sharing progress updates and discussing improvement strategies.
- Ensure students maintain discipline, punctuality, and active participation in academic activities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, counselling sessions, and follow-ups.
- Organize orientation sessions, motivational activities, and academic workshops to enhance student success.
- Utilize MS Excel, MS Word, and institutional software to manage student records and generate reports.
- Support the implementation of institutional academic policies and student engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline. A degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related fields is preferred.
- Freshers with strong interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply. Prior experience in academic mentoring, counselling, teaching, or student support is an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Malayalam is an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, counselling, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to motivate and mentor students from diverse academic backgrounds.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and basic computer applications.
