- Key Responsibilities
- Lead end to end design development and maintenance of Mainframe based applications using COBOL and related Mainframe utilities
- Analyze business requirements translate them into technical specifications and propose scalable Mainframe solutions aligned with enterprise standards
- Perform impact analysis code changes unit testing and support system integration testing for enhancements and defect fixes
- Optimize existing COBOL programs and Mainframe jobs for performance reliability and maintainability
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to support production releases incident resolution and root cause analysis for critical issues
- Ensure adherence to coding standards security guidelines and compliance requirements within the Mainframe environment
- Create and maintain technical documentation including design documents job flows and support guides
- Mentor junior team members provide code reviews and share Mainframe best practices to uplift overall team capability
- Participate in planning estimation and status reporting for Mainframe development and support activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including automation process optimization and technical upgrades in the Mainframe landscape
