Job Description: Project Engineer – Surveillance SystemsPosition Overview
The Project Engineer will be responsible for executing CCTV and surveillance system projects, including installation, configuration, integration, testing, and commissioning. The role requires strong technical knowledge of IP surveillance systems, hands-on field experience, and the ability to manage site activities efficiently.
Experience Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in CCTV, IP camera, NVR/DVR, and surveillance system installation and commissioning.
- Proven experience in field implementation, including site surveys, camera placement, cabling, and system configuration.
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- IP cameras, NVR/DVR configuration, PoE switches, and networking basics
- Storage configuration (RAID/NAS), video retention, and bandwidth calculation
- Familiarity with CCTV brands such as CP Plus, Tyco, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of network topologies, IP addressing, and structured cabling standards.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or IT.
- Ability to handle site execution, vendor coordination, and client communication.
- Knowledge of CMR (Complaint Management & Resolution) software for complaint logging, tracking, and escalation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute CCTV installation projects as per approved design and layout plans.
- Conduct detailed site surveys and prepare technical reports, drawings, and material requirement lists.
- Install and configure IP cameras, NVRs, PoE switches, and network devices.
- Perform system integration with existing IT networks, servers, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure system testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification before handover.
- Support commissioning and maintain all technical documentation including IP schemes, configuration records, test reports, and user manuals.
- Coordinate with project managers, vendors, contractors, and clients to ensure timely project completion.
- Manage on-site inventory and track daily material consumption.
- Use CMR software to log complaints, update progress, close tickets, and maintain service records.
- Provide technical support and training to end users or operations teams when required.
- Adhere to safety standards, quality guidelines, and OEM specifications during project execution.
