We are looking for an experienced Project Manager for one of our client to represent the project owner and oversee the execution of a major chemical/process industry project. The position will be based in Vadodara, with regular coordination and site visits to Mahad, Maharashtra.
The Project Manager will act as the key interface between the project owner, EPC contractor, engineering teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Owner’s Representative and primary interface with the EPC contractor.
- Oversee EPC activities covering Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Handover.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, cost, quality, HSE, milestones, and overall project performance.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Process, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation.
- Review engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, technical queries, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Track project progress and identify risks, delays, technical issues, and interface challenges.
- Drive timely resolution of project issues and ensure closure of actions and outstanding comments.
- Conduct and coordinate project review meetings with internal teams and EPC contractors.
- Coordinate with the USA-based internal team and contractor teams for timely technical decisions and approvals.
- Monitor EPC contractor performance against agreed project objectives, schedules, and deliverables.
- Manage project risks, changes, interfaces, and stakeholder expectations.
- Provide regular project status reports covering progress, risks, delays, key decisions, and upcoming milestones.
- Support construction activities, commissioning, punch-list closure, and final project handover.
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE, quality, engineering, and project execution requirements.
- Travel to the project site and other locations as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical / Chemical / Civil / Electrical or a related engineering discipline.
- 12–18+ years of overall experience in Project Management, EPC execution, Owner’s Project Management, or related roles.
- Mandatory experience in Chemical, Petrochemical, Process, Industrial, Oil & Gas, or similar process-industry projects.
- Strong experience in EPC coordination and multidisciplinary project execution.
- Good knowledge of project controls, planning, scheduling, cost monitoring, risk management, and change management.
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering and project execution processes.
- Experience coordinating with EPC contractors, consultants, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to independently represent the owner’s interests and drive project objectives.
- Willingness to travel to the project site as required.
