About the Program:
JEEVIKA is a flagship rural livelihood initiative implemented by the Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society under the Government of Bihar. The program focuses on strengthening rural livelihoods, empowering women through self-help groups, and improving service delivery through digital platforms and technology-driven systems.
Role Summary:
The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing databases used under the JEEViKA project. The role involves ensuring database performance, security, availability, and integrity to support project MIS systems, reporting platforms, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database systems supporting project applications and MIS platforms.
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and database structures.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all project databases.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks including patching, updates, and performance tuning.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and database access controls.
- Work closely with application developers, MIS teams, and data analysts to support database requirements.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.
- Maintain documentation for database structures, procedures, and security policies.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education -
- B.E / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field
- BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), MCA (Master of Computer Applications).
Experience - Minimum 5 years of post-qualification relevant work experience in database administration.
- Experience managing databases for MIS systems, enterprise applications, or large-scale data systems.
- Experience working with government projects or development sector programs will be an added advantage.
Skills Required & Other Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of database administration concepts and database architecture.
- MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle Database
- Proficiency in SQL queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Understanding of data security, user access control, and database monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with server environments and database hosting infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to handle large datasets and ensure database scalability.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical teams.
