Role Overview
Manage and oversee daily operational activities for a 500 sq ft high-density microgreens production setup in Vapi, Gujarat. This role is responsible for crop management from seed to harvest, environment control, quality assurance, and yield optimization using modern urban farming techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Crop Cycle Management: Execute seeding, germination, growing, and harvesting schedules for various microgreen varieties (e.g., radish, broccoli, mustard, pea shoots, sunflower) to ensure a continuous 7 to 14-day supply cycle.
- Environmental & Irrigation Control: Monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, ventilation, lighting (LED/photoperiod), and tray irrigation parameters to maintain optimal microclimate conditions in a controlled space.
- Substrate & Nutrient Management: Manage soil-less growing media (coco coir, peat, or grow mats) and monitor water quality, including pH and EC levels, to support plant health.
- Hygiene & Pest Control: Maintain strict farm sanitation protocols to prevent mold, fungal growth, and pest infestations using organic and physical control methods.
- Harvest & Post-Harvest Operations: Oversee standard operating procedures for clean harvesting, weight checks, packaging, cold storage storage, and tray wash cycles to maximize shelf life.
- Record Keeping & Inventory: Maintain batch records, germination rates, yield efficiency per tray, seed stock levels, and growing consumables inventory.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or relevant life science field.
- Experience: 0–3 years in crop management, indoor farming, hydroponics, or microgreens production (Freshers with relevant educational background or internship experience are encouraged to apply).
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of controlled-environment agriculture (CEA), seed density ratios, microgreen growing phases, and disease prevention.
- Language: Proficiency in Gujarati and Hindi for operational coordination (English is a plus).
- Work Style: High attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and willingness to perform hands-on farm duties (filling trays, cleaning equipment, harvesting).
