Housekeeping Supervisor
We are looking for a responsible, experienced, and guest-focused Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the daily housekeeping operations of the hotel and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction throughout the property.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations, excellent leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Housekeeping Department to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Allocate duties to Room Attendants, Public Area Attendants, Housekeeping GSA staff, and other team members according to occupancy and operational requirements.
- Ensure all guest rooms, corridors, public areas, back-of-house areas, washrooms, and other assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to hotel standards.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas regularly to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, maintenance, and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
- Ensure rooms are properly cleaned, arranged, and prepared for check-in within the required time.
- Monitor room status and coordinate closely with the Front Office Department regarding room availability, vacant/dirty rooms, clean rooms, VIP rooms, early check-ins, and urgent room requirements.
- Handle guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally, ensuring proper follow-up until the issue is resolved.
- Conduct regular inspections and provide corrective instructions to staff whenever standards are not met.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and control of linen, uniforms, cleaning chemicals, equipment, amenities, and housekeeping supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or damaged items to the Housekeeping management.
- Ensure cleaning chemicals and equipment are used correctly and safely as per hotel procedures.
- Maintain proper records, checklists, room inspection reports, lost and found records, linen records, and other departmental documentation.
- Follow up on maintenance issues identified in guest rooms and public areas and coordinate with the Engineering Department for timely rectification.
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of Lost & Found items in accordance with hotel policy.
- Train, guide, and motivate housekeeping staff to improve productivity, discipline, grooming, and service standards.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate important operational information, special requests, VIP movements, occupancy details, and departmental instructions to the team.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, uniform standards, and overall discipline.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, SOPs, hygiene standards, fire and safety procedures, and security requirements.
- Assist in implementing deep-cleaning schedules, preventive cleaning programs, pest-control activities, and periodic maintenance cleaning.
- Monitor the cleanliness and presentation of staff areas, service areas, housekeeping stores, linen rooms, and other back-of-house facilities.
- Coordinate housekeeping requirements for VIP guests, special occasions, conferences, banquets, events, and high-occupancy periods.
- Ensure effective manpower utilization and adjust staff deployment according to business requirements.
- Maintain professional communication with Front Office, Engineering, F&B, Security, HR, and other departments.
- Report operational issues, guest complaints, damages, incidents, and unusual observations to the Housekeeping management immediately.
- Support the implementation of sustainability initiatives, including responsible use of water, electricity, chemicals, linen, and other resources.
- Ensure that all housekeeping operations contribute positively to the hotel's guest experience and overall service standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2–4 years of relevant housekeeping experience in a hotel environment; experience in a 4-star/5-star hotel will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in a Housekeeping Supervisor or senior housekeeping position is preferred.
- Good knowledge of hotel room cleaning procedures, public-area cleaning, linen management, chemicals, and housekeeping equipment.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to handle guest complaints and operational challenges professionally.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good knowledge of housekeeping SOPs, safety procedures, and hotel standards.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with hotel housekeeping systems will be an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and peak operational periods.

Performance Expectations
The selected candidate will be expected to maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, room presentation, staff discipline, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction, while ensuring that the Housekeeping Department operates effectively and in accordance with the hotel's standards and procedures.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
