Role Overview
The Commis I – Tandoor is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of tandoor dishes while maintaining high standards of taste, quality, hygiene, and presentation. The role involves independently handling the tandoor section during operations and supporting smooth kitchen functioning.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook tandoor items such as rotis, naans, kebabs, tikkas, and grilled dishes.
- Ensure dishes are prepared as per standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Handle marination, skewering, dough preparation, and grilling efficiently.
- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and food quality.
Kitchen Operations
- Manage assigned tasks within the tandoor section independently.
- Ensure proper mise en place is ready before service hours.
- Monitor and maintain proper temperature and usage of the tandoor oven.
- Support smooth kitchen operations during peak service hours.
Quality & Hygiene
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Follow proper food storage and FIFO practices.
- Ensure safe handling of tandoor equipment and adhere to fire safety practices.
Inventory & Coordination
- Assist in stock management and ingredient requisition for the tandoor section.
- Minimize food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
- Coordinate with other kitchen sections for smooth operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts.
- 2–4 years of experience in tandoor kitchen operations.
- Good knowledge of tandoor cooking techniques and Indian cuisine.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
