Job Summary
The VMC Operator is responsible for independently operating Vertical Machining Center machines to produce precision components as per engineering drawings, quality standards, and production plans. The role requires strong knowledge of tooling, offsets, and quality control with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate VMC machines independently to manufacture components as per drawing and process sheet
- Set up jobs including loading of tools, fixtures, and raw material
- Take full responsibility for job quality and accuracy (QC of own job)
- Perform tool setting, work offsets, and basic program corrections if required
- Ensure dimensional accuracy by regular inspection using measuring instruments
- Maintain surface finish and tolerance as specified in drawings
- Monitor machine performance and report any abnormalities or breakdowns
- Reduce rejection, rework, and machine downtime
- Follow production targets and daily schedules
- Maintain proper documentation such as production reports and inspection records
- Follow safety rules, SOPs, and 5S practices on shop floor
Skills & Technical Knowledge
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a VMC Operator
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, CNC Machining, Tool & Die, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, tooling selection, fixtures, and inserts
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T basics
- Knowledge of G-codes and M-codes (basic level)
- Experience with measuring instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
- Understanding of quality standards and inspection processes

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
