We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Aeronautical Engineer to lead and execute the design and development of a fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The candidate must possess strong technical expertise in aerodynamics, aircraft structures, and overall aircraft design, and be capable of independently managing the complete project lifecycle—from conceptual design to flight testing and validation.
This role requires a hands-on engineer with leadership ability, analytical thinking, and practical experience in UAV or aircraft development programs.
- Lead the complete design and development of a large fixed-wing UAV.
- Perform aerodynamic design, analysis, and optimization of aircraft configurations.
- Conduct structural design and analysis including material selection, load calculations, and stress analysis.
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed aircraft design documentation.
- Prepare weight estimation, performance estimation, stability, and control analysis.
- Coordinate with avionics, propulsion, and manufacturing teams.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, assembly, and system integration.
- Plan and supervise ground tests, structural tests, and flight trials.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aviation standards and safety requirements.
- Manage project timelines, technical reviews, and milestone tracking.
- Interact with vendors and suppliers for materials and components.
- Troubleshoot design, integration, and performance issues during development and testing.
- Strong understanding of aircraft aerodynamics.
- In-depth knowledge of flight mechanics.
- Solid expertise in aircraft structures.
- Experience with stability and control analysis.
- Knowledge of propulsion system integration.
- Hands-on experience in fixed-wing aircraft or UAV design and development.
- Experience with composite structures and manufacturing processes.
- Capability in structural load analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Proficiency in CATIA, SolidWorks, or NX.
- Experience using ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus.
- Working knowledge of XFLR5, MATLAB, or similar analysis tools.
- Ability to generate detailed design reports, test plans, performance estimation sheets, and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to participate in field trials and travel as required.
Qualification : B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering.
