Role Summary
You will be serving as technical leader responsible for shaping long‑term architecture and engineering direction across domains. You will work on fundamental platform scaling, organizational architecture governance, and high‑impact cross‑team initiatives.
This role requires:
- Multi‑team technical leadership
- Designing platform strategies and frameworks
- Owning architectural vision for multiple domains
- Coaching Staff and Senior engineers
Key Responsibilities
Org‑Wide Architecture Leadership
- Define long‑term architecture for NELD, Ingestion, and related platform services.
- Lead large cross‑organization programs that span multiple engineering, product, and compliance teams.
- Shape architectural frameworks, standards, and best practices used across teams.
Strategy & Direction
- Partner with Directors, EMs, and Product/Compliance leadership to align engineering strategy with business goals.
- Identify and drive resolution of systemic architectural challenges.
- Influence roadmap decisions and investment areas across multiple domains.
Platform & System Design
- Architect high‑scale ingestion systems capable of handling billions of events/day.
- Design enterprise‑grade compliance and audit systems that guarantee correctness and reliability.
- Lead large‑scale migrations, re‑architectures, and cost‑performance optimizations.
Reliability, Scale & Observability Leadership
- Set SLOs for critical systems across Netradyne's platform.
- Drive platform‑wide initiatives for resilience, data quality, and observability.
- Develop frameworks and patterns for fault tolerance used across engineering.
Cross‑Team Influence
- Lead org‑wide design reviews and technical councils.
- Help navigate complex technical tradeoffs across teams and domains.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor and decision‑maker across projects.
Mentorship & Thought Leadership
- Coach and mentor Staff Engineers, Senior Engineers, and emerging leaders.
- Raise overall engineering maturity through standards, patterns, and frameworks.
- Represent engineering in strategic conversations, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong programming experience in Java.
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals, especially algorithms, data structures, OOPS, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot and ORM frameworks.
- Good understanding of database internals and schema design for different data stores (RDBMS, NoSQL).
- Experience in designing and developing APIs for large-scale data systems with low latency.
- Experience working in a client-server, cloud-hosted environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience building enterprise‑grade compliance or regulatory systems.
- Hands‑on experience operating complex ingestion/streaming infrastructures at massive scale.
- Experience defining engineering vision or leading long‑term platform strategies.
- Prior work in ELD/HOS/telematics or fleet‑tech ecosystems is highly beneficial.
Education
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
