Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Engineering & Development to lead product design and development activities for Interior Soft Trims, Headliners, and Plastic Trim components. The candidate will be responsible for product development from concept to production, customer coordination, design validation, and cross-functional project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and development activities for Interior Soft Trims, Headliners, and Plastic Trim components.
- Develop and release 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation using CATIA/NX and PLM systems.
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.
- Manage engineering changes, design reviews, DFMEA, DVP&R, and product validation activities.
- Support prototype development, tooling reviews, and production launch activities.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.
- Drive cost optimization, quality improvement, and product performance enhancement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
Required Qualifications
- BE / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8–10 years of experience in Automotive Interior Trim product development.
- Strong knowledge of Soft Trims, Headliners, NVH products, and Plastic Trim components.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 and/or NX CAD.
- Experience with PLM systems and engineering change management.
- Good understanding of APQP, DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, and automotive development processes.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes for interior trim and headliner products.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams.
