The Welding Application engineer is responsible for showcasing, testing, and validating robotic and collaborative robotic (cobot) welding solutions for customers, distributors, and sales teams. The role involves developing welding applications, conducting live demonstrations, optimizing welding processes, supporting pre-sales activities, and providing technical expertise on robotic welding automation.
The ideal candidate should possess strong welding process knowledge combined with hands-on experience in industrial robots, cobots, welding equipment, and automation systems.
Application Development & Demonstration
- Develop and execute robotic and cobot welding demonstrations for customer applications for MIG and TIG with Cold wire feeder
- Demonstrate welding automation solutions during customer visits, trade shows, technical seminars, and open-house events.
- Prepare demonstration samples and welding setups for proof-of-concept evaluations.
- Conduct welding trials and feasibility studies based on customer requirements.
Technical Support & Pre-Sales
- Support the sales team in identifying customer requirements and recommending suitable robotic welding solutions.
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers and partners.
- Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, application reports, cycle time analysis, and ROI calculations.
- Collaborate with customers to improve welding productivity, quality, and process consistency.
Programming & Process Optimization
- Program industrial robots and cobots for welding applications.
- Optimize welding parameters to achieve high-quality welds and maximum productivity.
- Configure welding power sources, wire feeders, torch systems
- Troubleshoot welding defects, process issues, and robotic programming challenges.
- Support integration of robotic welding power source
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Provide application training to customers, distributors, and internal sales teams.
- Develop application notes, demonstration procedures, and technical documentation.
- Stay updated on emerging welding technologies, robotic systems, and industry best practices.
Customer & Market Support
- Visit customer facilities to evaluate welding automation opportunities.
- Support installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing when required.
- Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to support product development and business growth.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively for customer demonstrations, exhibitions, application trials, and training programs.
- Travel may range from 40%–70% depending on business requirements.
