Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Manager – Software Engineering to lead and scale high-performing software engineering teams within Ensemble Health Partners India. This role will be responsible for driving execution excellence, strengthening engineering practices, improving platform reliability, and supporting technology strategy across multiple product engineering teams.
The Senior Manager will work closely with Engineering Directors, Product Management, Architecture, DevOps, Security, Data, and business stakeholders to translate business priorities into scalable, secure, and high-quality technology solutions. The role requires a strong balance of technical depth, people leadership, delivery ownership, and operational discipline.
This position is expected to operate with a higher level of ownership than an Engineering Manager and actively support Director-level responsibilities across planning, execution, engineering governance, talent development, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
What You’ll Do:
Engineering Leadership & Technical Execution

Lead software engineering team responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications and platforms.

Partner with stake holders to execute the product engineering roadmap aligned with platform, and business priorities.

Provide technical direction across application design, architecture reviews, reusable components, engineering standards, and solution delivery.

Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, performant, maintainable, and aligned with modern engineering practices.

Drive adoption of cloud-native design, API-first development, microservices, event-driven patterns, and modern .NET engineering practices where applicable.
Delivery Excellence & Operational Ownership

Own end-to-end delivery outcomes for assigned engineering teams, including planning, execution, dependency management, risk identification, and release readiness.

Establish predictable delivery practices through strong sprint planning, capacity management, estimation discipline, and execution tracking.

Ensure teams maintain high standards for delivery quality, production readiness, incident response, and continuous improvement.

Partner with DevOps, Platform, and Architecture teams to improve CI/CD maturity, deployment reliability, observability, and operational stability.

Drive engineering accountability for SLAs, performance, scalability, availability, and cost optimization.
Quality, Security & Engineering Practices

Champion engineering excellence across teams by promoting code quality, design reviews, automated testing, secure coding, and maintainable architecture.

Drive proactive identification and remediation of technical debt, performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and reliability gaps.

Support compliance with healthcare technology security, privacy, and regulatory expectations.

Encourage responsible use of modern engineering productivity tools, including AI-assisted coding and automation, to improve developer efficiency and quality.
People Leadership & Talent Development

Manage and develop engineering leads, senior engineers, and high-performing engineering teams.

Build a culture of ownership, accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, succession planning, and leadership development for engineering talent.

Coach managers and technical leaders to improve execution rigor, stakeholder communication, engineering judgment, and team effectiveness.

Identify capability gaps and create development plans to strengthen team maturity and delivery confidence.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Support

Partner closely with Product, Architecture, Data, AI/ML, Security, DevOps, and business stakeholders to align priorities and execution plans.

Support Engineering Leaders in translating strategic priorities into actionable execution plans for teams.

Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and delivery status clearly to senior engineering and business leadership.

Act as a bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring teams understand business context, technical priorities, and expected outcomes.

Contribute to engineering governance, operating rhythms, planning reviews, and cross-team alignment forums.
Required Skills:

13/14+ years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or platform engineering.

6+ years of experience leading engineering teams, preferably across multiple teams, pods, or product areas.

Strong technical background in modern software engineering using technologies such as REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.

Hands-on understanding of Azure or similar cloud platforms, including application hosting, storage, databases, observability, and cloud operations.

Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, release management, and production support.

Strong architectural mindset with the ability to review designs, challenge assumptions, identify risks, and influence cross-team technical decisions.

Experience driving engineering quality, performance optimization, reliability improvements, cost optimization, and operational excellence.

Strong people leadership skills with demonstrated ability to coach managers, develop talent, and build high-performing teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, product, architecture, and business teams.
