The Assistant Accountant will support day-to-day financial operations by maintaining accurate accounts across our automobile dealership or corporate dealer operations. The selected candidate will manage invoice data entry, reconcile bank statements, track inventory/cash flows, and assist senior executives with GST and audit compilations. 1. Core Ledger & Data Entry
- Record daily sales, purchases, bank receipts, and payments accurately using Tally ERP / Tally Prime.
- Process and cross-verify daily cash counters and showroom billing summaries against cash/digital payments received.
- Manage day-to-day Petty Cash and prepare regular vouchers and journal entries. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
2. Receivables & Payables Tracking [1]
- Maintain up-to-date customer and vendor ledgers.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on pending payments from retail vehicle customers or corporate clients.
- Verify vendor invoices, track purchase receipts, and flag any cost discrepancies to the Senior Accounts Executive. [1, 2, 3]
3. Reconciliations & Reporting
- Perform timely Bank Reconciliations (BRS) across multiple operational accounts.
- Collaborate with store teams to track and log spare parts, vehicle showroom stocks, or asset inventories.
- Assist senior management in compiling daily/weekly MIS logs and financial datasets. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
4. Taxation & Audit Assistance
- Organize basic tax datasets and bills to facilitate smooth monthly GST return filings (GSTR-1 & 3B).
- Support documentation requirements for TDS calculations and month-end financial book closures.
- Maintain clean paper and digital trails to assist internal and statutory financial auditors. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Corporate Secretaryship, or Finance. [1, 2, 3]
- Technical Software: Absolute hands-on proficiency in Tally ERP / Tally Prime and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) is mandatory. [1, 2, 3]
- Experience: 6 to 12 months in a retail store, service center, or automobile dealership accounting department is highly preferred. [1, 2, 3]
- Core Competencies:
- Clean understanding of basic accounting fundamentals (Debit/Credit rules, double-entry system).
- High attention to detail with an ability to spot numeric discrepancies quickly.
