The Painter is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing steel structures and fabricated components according to company quality and safety standards. The role includes spray painting, primer application, surface cleaning, and paint maintenance for PEB materials.
1. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare steel surfaces before painting
- Remove rust, grease, dust, and old paint using sandpaper, wire brush, or blasting tools
- Apply primer, paint, and protective coatings on PEB structures
- Operate spray painting equipment and painting tools
- Mix paints and coatings according to specifications
- Ensure proper paint thickness and finishing quality
- Perform touch-up painting where required
- Follow safety procedures while handling paints and chemicals
- Maintain painting tools and equipment
- Coordinate with fabrication and quality teams
- Ensure work is completed within production timelines
2. Skills Required
- Knowledge of industrial painting techniques
- Experience with spray painting machines
- Understanding of surface preparation methods
- Ability to read basic fabrication or paint specifications
- Attention to detail and finishing quality
- Knowledge of safety standards and PPE usage
3. Qualification
- ITI / 10th / 12th pass (preferred)
- Industrial painting certification is an advantage
4. Experience
- 3-4 years experience in industrial painting, steel fabrication, or PEB industry preferred
5. Working Conditions
- Factory / fabrication shop environment
- May involve working at heights or confined spaces
- Use of PPE such as masks, gloves, goggles, and safety shoes required
