JOB DESCRIPTION INCOMING QUALITY CONTROL (IQC) Job Title Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Inspector / Engineer Department Quality Assurance / Quality Control Location Manufacturing Plant – Home Appliances Reporting To Quality Manager / IQC Supervisor Job Purpose To ensure that all incoming raw materials, bought-out components, and parts used in the manufacturing of home appliances comply with specified quality standards and requirements before release to production. Key Responsibilities Incoming Material Inspection Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and assemblies as per inspection plan, drawings, and specifications Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections Verify supplier documents such as COC, test reports, material certificates, and invoices Quality Control & Measurement Conduct inspections using vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges, multimeters, etc. Follow AQL sampling standards for inspection Ensure proper identification, labeling, and traceability of materials Non-Conformance Handling Identify non-conforming materials and segregate them properly Raise NCR / Rejection Reports and inform concerned departments Coordinate with suppliers for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Supplier Quality Coordination Communicate quality issues to suppliers and track corrective actions Support supplier audits and improvement activities Monitor supplier quality performance and incoming rejection trends Documentation & Records Maintain incoming inspection reports, rejection records, and quality logs Update ERP / manual registers for material status Provide data for ISO, BIS, customer, and internal audits Coordination & Support Release accepted materials to stores or production Support production teams in resolving issues related to incoming materials Assist engineering and QA teams in quality improvement activities Components Inspected (Examples) Sheet metal parts and fabricated components Plastic injection molded parts Electrical & electronic parts (motors, wiring harness, PCBAs) Compressors, fans, heaters, sensors Fasteners and standard bought-out items Skills & Competencies Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems Familiarity with quality tools (7 QC tools, 5 Why, Fishbone) Good communication and documentation skills Basic understanding of home appliance manufacturing processes Qualification ITI / Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering 1–5 years of experience in IQC or manufacturing quality control Experience in home appliance or consumer durable industry preferred Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Incoming material rejection rate Supplier defect rate On-time inspection and material release Reduction in production issues due to incoming quality defects
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
