Kalike - An associate organization of Tata Trusts is focusing on ensuring quality education to the rural and deprived children in Yadgir district, Karnataka. Followed with successful engagement in education, Kalike overlaid their services with Livelihood, Early Childhood Development (ECD), WASH, Skill Development interventions as a matrix approach to have better impact in the over quality of life among the people of Yadgir. As the initiatives plans to make long term investments towards improving quality of education, ranging from pre-school to high school education, health, livelihood, WASH and skill development, as part of an end-to-end approach over a period of time. Position Purpose:
As Program Manager – Physical Literacy, the incumbent expected to lead the planning, training and delivery of the Physical Literacy component integrated with education interventions in the areas of operation of the organisation.
· Roles and Responsibilities:
· Assist Program Head/Director in designing, planning and timely execution of Physical Literacy component integrated with the education interventions initiated by organization.
· Lead the Physical Literacy Component for ECE as well as Primary school education program in designing, implementation, and evaluation
· Provide support to the implementation team through regular mentoring & supervision and monitoring of the programme.
· Managing and facilitating with partners and donors through appropriate updates and build the relationship for smooth implementation of education interventions.
· Closely work with key stakeholders including the other managers/technical leads of the Education intervention, SCERT/DIETs/DDPI Office/BEOs/BRCs for effective implementation of planned interventions and ensure their participation.
· Develop robust practice for teachers to adopt the pedagogy of conducting fun physical activities in the classroom in ECE and elementary schools.
· Build capacity of program team and NGO functionaries to adopt and practice innovation ways of integrating physical activities intended to teach fundamental movement skills, improve cognitive and affective domains through fun physical activities, in education sector.
· Prepare and share monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual field reports in coordination with Program Director.
· Plan, design, organise and conduct trainings/workshops/capacity building programmes and mentoring support to teachers, Animators/Volunteers, Internal Program team members etc.,
· Carry out school/village visits to oversee the implementation of activities in school and community level.
· Facilitate meaningful partnership with district administration & education department (Schools, Anganwadi Centres, SDMCs, Schools and Gram Panchayats) for Primary and Secondary Education work in schools and community.
· Carry out joint visits with Education Department officials / functionaries (BRCs/BEOs/DDPIs) for the effective and smooth implementation of Primary and Secondary Education interventions.
· Undertake documentation of project activities (outputs and outcomes) in the form of reports, case studies, photos and videos.
· Ensuring timely submission/update and followed accurate Management Information System (MIS) in Primary and Secondary Education in coordination with field team.
· Undertake any other responsibilities that management may entrust upon you.
Essential Skills:
· Played some sport at minimum district level and some pedagogy training/workshop in engaging children in active settings in school.
· At least 8-12 years of experience of conducting physical activity/sports sessions with children in schools and working in/with teams
· Written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi and Kannada/Tamil language
· Report writing and effective use of MIS office.
· Orientation to National Education Policy 2020 & Right to Education (RTE) Act with special reference to integrating physical movement in school, with minimal equipment
· Facilitation skills to conduct training and capacity building workshops.
· Computer proficiency and basic skills to design reports
Educational Qualification & Experience
A degree in Physical Education, with at least 8-12 years of experience in relevant field
