Job Summary
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP CLM (Contract and Lease Management) Consultant to lead the blueprinting, configuration, and rollout of our public sector lease and subscription accounting solution. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with GASB 87 (Leases) and GASB 96 (Subscription-Based IT Arrangements - SBITAs). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using the SAP CLM valuation engine to manage complex contract lifecycles for equipment, real estate, and cloud software subscriptions within an SAP S/4HANA environment.

1. Solution Design & Implementation
Lead the end-to-end implementation lifecycle of SAP CLM to meet Public Sector regulatory mandates within an SAP S/4HANA environment.
Review business requirements from IT Asset Management, Procurement, and Finance/Accounting teams.
Translate GASB 87 lease policies and GASB 96 SBITA guidelines into automated SAP contract archetypes and valuation rules.
2. Hands-on Configuration
Configure lean, contract-centric master data repositories within SAP CLM, optimized for IT software subscriptions, fleet, equipment, and facility usage.
Set up customizable contract condition types to handle recurring subscription fees, variable payments, and capitalizable SBITA implementation costs.
Establish and maintain calculation rules, Incremental Borrowing Rates (IBR), and discount factor keys.
3. Financial Integration & Valuation Engine
Configure seamless financial integration between SAP CLM, General Ledger (FI-GL), and Asset Accounting (FI-AA).
Set up the CLM valuation engine to calculate Net Present Value (NPV), automatically generating the required Right-of-Use (RoU) Intangible Assets and Lease/Subscription Liabilities.
Map contract validation flows to automate monthly amortization runs and liability interest accruals.
4. Lifecycle & Change Management
Establish robust processes for complex contract modifications, including lease remeasurements, index adjustments, extensions, and early terminations.
Design and deploy automated standard Fiori apps and custom disclosure reporting for audit readiness.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
Minimum 5+ years of direct, hands-on configuration experience in SAP Lease Accounting frameworks (specifically SAP CLM / RE-FX-LA).
Strong, verifiable knowledge of SAP Financials integration, specifically Asset Accounting (FI-AA) and General Ledger (FI-GL).
Experience configuring standard SAP Fiori analytical dashboards for contract management.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA Public Sector Management (PSM-FM/Funds Management) is a strong plus.
Business & Compliance Knowledge:
Deep functional understanding of GASB 87 and GASB 96 (SBITA) public sector accounting regulations.
Clear grasp of accounting mechanics, including single-model lease approaches, intangible asset capitalization, and liability amortization lifecycle.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical SAP architecture to C-level finance executives.
Analytical mindset with strong documentation habits for writing functional specifications (RICEFW).
Other Requirements
Preferred Certifications
SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting.
CPA background or specific experience working within Local/State Government or Higher Education environments is a major plus.
