The Role: Your Mission as a Captain
The Restaurant Captain is responsible for leading service in their assigned station, ensuring the highest standards of hospitality are met from the moment a guest is seated until they depart. You will act as the primary point of contact for your guests and a mentor for your support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Service Execution: Oversee and manage the complete dining experience for guests in your section. Take and accurately enter all food and beverage orders.
- Guest Relations: Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, handle minor concerns or complaints professionally, and build rapport to encourage repeat visits.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain expert-level knowledge of the entire menu, including ingredients, preparations, and allergens. Specific knowledge of Arabic cuisine is a strong asset. Effectively make suggestions and upsell.
- Team Leadership & Training: Direct and delegate tasks to Runners, Bussers, and Back-Waiters in your station. Provide constructive coaching to ensure team efficiency and adherence to service standards.
- Administrative/Closing: Accurately process payments, reconcile your cash/credit station, and complete closing duties (e.g., side work, preparing for the next shift).
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an equivalent high-volume or fine-dining server/captain role.
- Education: Hotel Management Graduates preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional communication, multitasking, and organizational skills. Must be able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Availability: Must have open availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Attitude: A genuine passion for hospitality and a team-first, positive attitude.
- Bonus: Previous experience with Arabic or specialized international cuisine is a significant advantage.
