We are looking for a high-energy, creative Junior Video Editor to join our team in Kozhikode. Our primary focus is high-quality YouTube production, and we need someone who understands the "science" of the platform—retention, pacing, and visual storytelling.
You won't just be cutting clips; you’ll be helping us build an audience. You will take raw footage and transform it into polished, "un-skippable" content that aligns with current YouTube trends and our brand voice.
Key Responsibilities
- YouTube Master-Cuts: Edit long-form YouTube videos (10–20 mins) with a focus on high retention, engaging intros, and seamless transitions.
- Storytelling: Structure narratives from raw vlogs, tutorials, or interviews to ensure the "hook" is strong and the "payoff" is worth it.
- Social Repurposing: Convert long-form videos into high-impact YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels to drive traffic.
- Visual Enhancement: Add text overlays, motion graphics, sound effects (SFX), and royalty-free music to enhance the viewer experience.
- Thumbnail Collaboration: Work with our designers to provide high-quality "stills" and frames from the footage for clickable thumbnails.
- Asset Management: Keep our project files and raw 4K footage organized on local storage and cloud backups.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro. Basic skills in After Effects (for titles/lower thirds) and Photoshop are highly preferred.
- Platform Knowledge: You must be a "YouTube Native"—you understand what makes a video go viral, how "B-roll" is used effectively, and when to use "jump cuts."
- Audio Pacing: Ability to mix audio, sync external microphones, and choose music that fits the emotional arc of the video.
- Efficiency: Ability to work under deadlines and manage a consistent upload schedule.
- Language: Proficiency in Malayalam and English (for subtitling and content context).
