Job Summary
The English Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language and literature instruction in accordance with the CBSE curriculum. The role involves fostering students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare annual, monthly, weekly, and daily lesson plans.
- Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing skills, literature, and spoken English.
- Develop students' communication, analytical thinking, and language proficiency.
- Use innovative teaching methodologies, digital tools, and activity-based learning techniques.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a disciplined, positive, and student-friendly classroom environment.
- Encourage active participation and collaborative learning.
- Monitor student attendance and classroom behavior.
- Ensure effective classroom organization and learning resources.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Prepare question papers, worksheets, assignments, and projects.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per CBSE guidelines.
- Evaluate answer scripts and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate academic records and student progress reports.
- Identify learning gaps and conduct remedial classes where necessary.
Student Development
- Encourage reading habits and creative writing.
- Support students in debates, elocution, storytelling, poetry recitation, and literary competitions.
- Guide students in improving pronunciation, vocabulary, and public speaking skills.
- Mentor students academically and emotionally whenever required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory for teaching positions in CBSE schools.)
- Master's Degree in English (Preferred for TGT/PGT positions).
Experience
- PRT: 1–3 years of teaching experience.
- TGT: 2–5 years of CBSE teaching experience.
- PGT: 3–8 years of CBSE teaching experience.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills and strong subject knowledge may also be considered for junior positions.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
