The VGL, situated in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is an integrated steel plant having its own Stainless-Steel Plant, Rolling Mill, Sponge Iron Unit, Ferro Alloy unit and Captive Power Plant (Thermal, Wind and Solar).
Responsible for developing and implementing strategy to ensure that all central and sub-store activities are performed with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate material management risks and deliver cost savings.
Responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance to best-in-industry store operations and material management practices are in place.
Job Description
Attend production review meetings of all units and administrative groups to understand their material requirements and plan for maintaining optimum stock levels of all inventory items across all stores (central and sub-stores)
Maintain uninterrupted store operations and complete and accurate records of inventories by ensuring availability of store workforce at all time.
Ensure adequate and timely supply of items to plant operations team for MRP execution.
Release Purchase Requisitions on time to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
Validate and clear Receipt Material GRN within stipulated time.
Periodically review stores to identify non-moving and obsolete items for disposal.
Schedule and execute periodic scrap disposal activities.
Monitor and record material movements within each store & sub-store and inform relevant teams/stakeholders for appropriate planning and requisition.
Oversee all store operations and develop & implement procedures and plan for Store improvement
Establish the floor and layout arrangements. Prioritize location, accessibility and ensure that items are labelled and kept at designated places
Schedule and engage manpower to ensure compliant, timely and quality store operations.
Conduct monthly and other periodic Field store audits
Regulate, monitor, and document flow of items in and out of each store and maintain complete and accurate records of the material flow as well as inventory stock.
Ensure that all the store & inventory related reports are updated and submitted to senior management
Maintain and report records of scrap disposal.
Prepare the annual Purchasing budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with customer and legal requirements
Qualifications -Post graduate degree/diploma in Supply Chain management, Operations management, or Industrial management
Experience -Minimum 8-9 years of related experience in a fast-paced manufacturing set up preferably in steel industry.
Salary Upto - 15 LPA
