Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and academically qualified Assistant Professor in Commerce & Management to deliver high-quality teaching, mentor students, contribute to research and publications, and participate in departmental and institutional academic activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and other academic activities for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, presentations, assignments, and question papers.
- Conduct internal assessments, examinations, viva-voce, and evaluation of student work.
- Mentor and guide students regarding academics, projects, internships, placements, and career development.
- Guide students in research projects, dissertations, case studies, and presentations.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of courses.
- Undertake research and publish papers in reputed/peer-reviewed journals and present papers at conferences.
- Participate in seminars, workshops, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), conferences, and academic events.
- Support accreditation and quality-assurance activities such as NAAC/NBA and departmental documentation.
- Maintain attendance, academic records, course files, and other institutional documentation.
- Participate in examination, admission, placement, and other departmental/administrative duties.
- Develop industry linkages and incorporate practical case studies and current business practices into teaching.
- Perform other academic responsibilities assigned by the HOD/Dean/University.
Educational QualificationsCommerce
- Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com) or a relevant/allied discipline from a recognized university with the prescribed minimum marks.
- UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/SLET/SET in the relevant subject, wherever applicable.
- Ph.D. candidates/holders may receive applicable NET exemptions in accordance with prevailing UGC regulations.
Management
- Master’s degree in Management/Business Administration or relevant management discipline, as applicable to the position.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as CA/CMA/CS may be considered where permitted under applicable regulations.
- NET/SLET/SET or applicable Ph.D. exemption as per prevailing UGC/university norms.
