The Fabrication Shift Supervisor oversees daily shop floor operations during an assigned shift, ensuring all production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role directly manages a team of fabricators, welders, and machine operators while maintaining a safe and productive work environment
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and lead the fabrication team, including welders, fitters, and other skilled workers.

Ensure all fabrication activities comply with company safety procedures, OSHA (or relevant regulatory body) standards, and industry best practices.

Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions for all fabrication personnel to promote awareness of hazards and safe work practices

Proactively identify potential safety hazards in the fabrication process and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks

Plan, schedule, and monitor fabrication activities to meet production deadlines.

Ensure all fabrication work complies with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Inspect materials and components for defects and ensure proper handling and storage.

Maintain and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures in the fabrication area.

Coordinate with process engineering, quality control, and maintenance departments to resolve fabrication issues.

Train, mentor, and develop fabrication staff to improve skills and performance.

Monitor equipment usage and recommend maintenance or replacement as needed.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and documentation.
Qualifications:

Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.

Proven experience (typically 6+ years) in fabrication supervision or a related manufacturing role.

Strong knowledge of welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques.

Familiarity with fabrication tools, machines, and safety standards.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in using production management software is a plus.
Working Conditions:
